Payroll Taxes

Payroll taxes are now annualized rather than calculated based on each pay-period.

What this means is, if you are less than a 12 month employee, you are likely paying less tax than you did under the former Legacy system. Therefore, your tax information on your paycheck will be different, but not wrong. It is calculated based on your annualized income and where it fits into the tax table, and the information you provided on your W-4 form.

If your net pay is different under the new system, look at your gross pay and compare that to earlier checks. If the gross pay is the same, and the net is different, the difference likely lies in the taxes withheld.
